Thousands of letting & estate agents, housing associations and landlords are joining together to feed the foodbanks. UK Housing Fast is encouraging the nation to do what they’re calling a “reversible advent calendar”! Beginning December 1st, they’re being asked to put one food item in a box everyday up to Christmas before sending it to their nearest foodbank. The idea has become more and more popular across social media with agents across the country agreeing to participate! So far, Orkney Housing Association, Cynon Taf Housing, Luton Foodbank and Clanmil Housing have all agreed to take part on Twitter! Good Property News will write another article on everyone’s progress nearer Christmas time!
UK Housing Fast are an organisation set up to aid homelessness and food poverty across the UK. They’re encouraging businesses to raise funds for their charity, The Trussell Trust, whether they fast for a day, pledge their support on a paper plate, using what they call “paper pledges” or simply collect a food parcel over the 25 days of Christmas! The Trussell Trust work alongside UK Housing Fast to reduce homeless living. The organisation itself has continually been supported by property magazine, 24Housing.
