The Somerset Property Network (SPN) is celebrating it’s successful one year anniversary! The network allows landlords and tenants to link up to ensure a safe tenancy. Back in 2016, SPN launched the National Landlords Code of Excellence (NLCE) scheme aiming to help tenants find suitable accommodation within the Weston-super-Mare region. Since then it has grown to ensure thousands of safe tenancies. accrediting 56 landlords who represent 1,336 properties.
A Facebook page has also been set up to assist in the development of safe tenancies. The page is another way for landlords and tenants to successfully connect and have a safe tenancy, whilst advice and events happening in the region to assist landlords are also published. The aim of the Facebook group is to give landlords a place where they can get together and be heard. Aside from the Facebook page, landlords and tenants can join a mailing list to receive the latest news from the Somerset Property Network.
According to Sam Jackson, Director of SPN, the scheme itself has achieved much more than it set out to achieve. The scheme has recently been accredited by Rent With Confidence whilst the online tools provided through the scheme has enabled landlords to have a better working relationship with tenants and the council. The scheme hopes to extend its impact to a much wider area of North Somerset.
