An entrepreneurial couple are helping landlords turn their flats into Airbnb properties. Dave and Sanita Hanson thought of the idea after helping their neighbour, Tom Harvey, look after his one bedroom apartment while he went on holiday. They then went on to manage a two bedroom property owned by Dave and also lease a property in the same building as holiday cover.
Founded in August 2008, Airbnb allows landlords or homeowners to list their property for people to let while they’re away, for various purposes including holiday rentals, apartment rentals, homestays, hostel beds or hotel rooms. Focusing on the Leeds City Centre, the couple are calling their service Palis, offering landlords all the services needed to run an Airbnb apartment including cleaning, linens, re-stocking, greeting guests and a key exchange service. The couple believe running an Airbnb service can be very time consuming and so launched their business to help landlords wanting to utilise Airbnb’s services.
